In 1984, the famous Dakar Rally had a legendary winner – the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 4×4 Paris-Dakar (953). In 2023 Porsche launched its successor. Standing out from the crowd, the 992 Dakar has been designed to tackle tarmac, gravel and sand. As well as a specially tuned chassis, rear wheel steer and 480bhp powering all four wheels – the Dakar has a ground clearance of up to 80mm more than the standard 911. This means the Dakar has big arches to fill! 19x8j forged alloys up front, 20x11J at the rear, all wrapped in massive all-terrain tyres, do exactly that!! This particular model might be capable of tackling the Dakar Rally – but the potholes of Stirling’s roads proved a step too far!
